UK Establishes New Video Games Council to Boost Industry Growth

In a significant move to bolster its thriving interactive entertainment sector, the United Kingdom government has announced the creation of a new Video Games Council. This body is designed to collaborate with governmental bodies to propel the growth, innovation, and international presence of the UK's video game industry, acknowledging its substantial economic and cultural contributions. These include Emily Bailey from Green-BiT, focusing on sustainability; Saad Choudri of Miniclip, a mobile games publisher; Charu Desodt from indie developer Interior/Night; Kirsty Rigden of FuturLab, known for \"PowerWash Simulator\"; Dave Gould from the publishing giant Take-Two Interactive; Chris Van Der Kuyl of 4J Studios, recognized for \"Minecraft\" console ports; Donna Orlowski from Chucklefish; Tara Saunders, studio head at Larian Guildford, creators of \"Baldur's Gate 3\"; Maria Sayans from ustwo Games; and Tim Varney, Senior Corporate Counsel at Microsoft.
