Nintendo Launches 'Hello, Yoshi!' App for Switch and Mobile Devices

11/18/2025

Nintendo has introduced its latest interactive application, 'Hello, Yoshi!', now accessible on both the Nintendo Switch eShop and mobile app stores. This new offering is part of the ongoing 'My Mario' initiative, designed to provide engaging experiences for families. The app features the beloved character Yoshi, allowing users to interact with its digital rendition through various playful activities.

The 'Hello, Yoshi!' application builds upon the foundation established by the 'Hello, Mario!' app, which was previously released. Both applications aim to foster a fun and interactive environment where children and their parents can connect with iconic Nintendo characters. The Yoshi-themed app specifically enables users to manipulate Yoshi's tongue to collect items, witness different colored Yoshis emerge from eggs, and enjoy a range of its characteristic expressions. A unique feature of the app is its built-in rest reminder: after a period of interaction, Yoshi will fall asleep, signaling that it's time for the child to take a break as well.

The original 'Hello, Mario!' app, which debuted in August alongside a suite of Mario-themed products, offered a simple yet captivating experience. Users could playfully squish and poke Mario's face, eliciting various sound effects. The app also included a mini-game where spinning Mario's face or sending him through a pipe initiated a bubble-popping challenge, designed to entertain younger audiences and culminate in a small celebratory confetti burst upon reaching a certain score.

The new 'Hello, Yoshi!' app became available on November 18, 2025, in Japan, simultaneously launching on the App Store and Google Play. Its release is accompanied by a new line of Yoshi-themed merchandise, including toys, board books, and amiibo sets featuring Yoshi, Peach, and Luigi. These complementary products further enhance the 'My Mario' campaign's reach, offering a comprehensive character experience beyond digital platforms.

This latest addition to Nintendo's app lineup underscores the company's commitment to creating family-friendly digital content that integrates with its broader character franchises. The app's design, focusing on interactive play and subtle cues for child rest, reflects a thoughtful approach to engaging its primary audience while encouraging healthy digital habits.
