New Final Fantasy x Magic: The Gathering Products Unveiled
Following the unprecedented success of its initial collaboration, Wizards of the Coast is expanding its highly popular Final Fantasy crossover with Magic: The Gathering. New product lines have been unveiled, aiming to captivate both long-time fans and new players. These offerings are set to launch later this year, with pre-orders currently open, culminating in a full release on December 5th.
Among the newly announced items, the Chocobo Bundle stands out, featuring a collection of reprints from the Final Fantasy set reimagined with delightful chocobo-themed artwork. This bundle is particularly noteworthy as it includes cards previously exclusive to preconstructed decks, making them more accessible to a wider audience. Each Chocobo Bundle is packed with ten Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Play Boosters, along with a variety of basic lands, including 32 landmark lands (16 non-foil and 16 traditional foil), and 10 foil basic lands adorned with chocobo tracks. Additionally, purchasers will receive two out of 20 borderless Chocobo Bundle cards, a traditional foil promo card depicting 'Birds of Paradise' as 'Paradise Chocobo,' one of 24 non-foil cards from the Final Fantasy Scene Boxes, and a themed click wheel.
Another significant release is the Final Fantasy Commander Bundle, scheduled for December 5th. This bundle presents an excellent opportunity for players to acquire the 'Limit Break' precon deck. A unique feature of this bundle is the inclusion of a digital download code for the original Final Fantasy VII game on Windows PC, blending the physical card game experience with its digital video game origins.
Furthermore, Wizards of the Coast is introducing four new Final Fantasy Scene Boxes, each dedicated to a specific Final Fantasy title. These boxes are designed to be a collector's delight, with each containing six cards that, when placed together, form a single, cohesive piece of art. The individual Scene Boxes will focus on different installments of the beloved franchise, allowing fans to collect art pieces inspired by their favorite Final Fantasy games.
The pricing structure for this new wave of Magic: The Gathering — Final Fantasy products has also been detailed. Play Boosters will be available for $6.99, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99. Commander Decks are set at $69.99, with a Collector's Edition Commander Deck offered for $149.99.
