This update, detailed in the 12.09 patch notes, offers an in-game setting to activate the feature, which is not automatically enabled upon logging in.

Despite its introduction, preliminary testing suggests that the performance gains are quite subtle, especially for systems already equipped with high-end AMD hardware. Using an Nvidia Latency and Display Analysis Tool (LDAT), measurements showed a marginal decrease in latency, with Anti-Lag 2 reducing it from 10 ms to 9.84 ms.
